Work in Germany
Bavarian American Center Professional Internship Program
Jobs in Munich
Purpose / Program Description
The Bavarian American Center (BAC) offers professional internships to United States graduate students/recent graduates and Canadian graduate students (due to work authorization issues, Canadian recent graduates are not eligibile) pursuing a career in public administration or international relations. The program is designed to give first-hand insight into the German political system in general political institutions and the political process in Bavaria in particular.
It is also intended to involve students in project work relating to their specialized field of study in any of the nine Bavarian State Ministries or the Bavarian State Chancellery.
The program attempts to match specific fields of interest indicated by the applicants (e.g. refugee counseling, environmental protection, internal security, educational politics) with the internship positions available at the Ministries.
The BAC hopes to further mutual knowledge and understanding of politics and culture in the respective countries, exposing young "decision-makers-to-be" to the daily process of public administration.
